The FIA has confirmed the death of Muhamad bin Salim, 29 years old, the son of FIA president Mohammed Ben Sulayem, due to the injuries he suffered in a car accident in Dubai on Tuesday that involved several vehicles.

After this statement, there won’t be any further official statements by the FIA and Ben Sulayem has asked for respect and privacy in such a delicate time.

Bin Salim followed in his father’s footsteps when it came to his passion for cars -the current FIA president was a rally champion in the Middle East- and competed in the UAE Formula 4 Championship in 2016 and 2017 where he crossed paths with future F1 pilots as 2023 rookies Logan Sargeant and Oscar Piastri. Bin Salim had competed at the local level, but he never stepped into international competition.

As the media in the United Arab Emirates has reported, the young pilot will be buried on Thursday at Al Qusais cemetery in Dubai.
